About Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage is used to address specific problems with muscle pain and injury.
It involves stretching and massaging muscles to inhibit muscle spasm, increase flexibility, break down scar tissue and increase circulation. Each massage is tailored to the individual’s needs.
Remedial massage consultations involve exchanging information with the practitioner about your problematic area, assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
Depending on your individual circumstances remedial massage treatment can involve:
Remedial Massage Therapist – Heather Sterland
Heather is an enthusiastic and warm-hearted remedial massage therapist who is very dedicated to her work.
After completing her study in 2008 (incorporating all aspects of massage including lymphatic drainage and pregnancy massage). Heather is enjoying the day-to-day diversity of her job. Over the years, Heather has worked with the elderly in nursing homes, with Mooroolbark Knights Soccer Club and in both private practice and mobile massage.
Heather enjoys assisting people who experience neck and shoulder tension from life stresses or work posture. She finds that not only does massage reduce muscle tension, but incorporating a stretching and relaxation regime helps to alleviate the problem.
Pregnant women love coming to see Heather. They get to lay on their tummy, on our specially designed pregnancy pillow, and Heather’s healing hands sooth their strains and tension.
Heather is currently studying nutrition, and in future hopes to use this knowledge as an adjunct to her massage skills. Heather also completed a Rocktaping course and finds this taping method very useful in practice.
Heather is active both in and out of work- and you may find her walking or jogging around the area.
