The Role of Exercise in Youth Development and Pre-season Sports Preparation

Clinical Pilates Ringwood North

In youth development, exercise plays a pivotal role in shaping physical health and fostering mental wellbeing, discipline, and a sense of teamwork. As young individuals navigate the challenges of adolescence, integrating regular physical activity into their routine becomes essential. This blog explores the significance of exercise in youth development and the importance of pre-season sports preparation for teens. It also highlights the specialized programs offered by Maroondah Osteo and Sportscare for teenage athletes.

Preventing Kids Sport Related Injuries

There are many factors that influence why adolescents get injured whilst playing sport.
These can include lack of strength, poor nutrition, tight muscles, poor coordination and growth rate. Whilst some of these we can change, the growth rate of a child is one area that is out of our control. During this stage a child’s bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons are still growing which makes them more prone to injury. We also know that the growth plates are still developing which causes weakness at the end of long bones, therefore decreasing the strength in ligaments and tendons.
